In my quest for toy piano, music box, wheezy organ, out of tune
granny pianos I stumbled on a wonderful free sample site.

theFREESOUNDproject

freesound.iua.upf.edu/forum/index.php

A lot of the samples (especially if they are multi samples of instruments) come in packs.

When you go to the pack page there is software on the page itself that allow you to either hear each sample as a one shot or a loop.

A very cool thing is that you can run multiple sample loops simultaneously.

I used this as an improvisational technique and then made this piece of music. How I created it is pretty unusual and if you are interested in the techniques I used, there is a description of it's process in the Forum at freesound (or the archives of Loopers Delight under TheBrokenMusicBox

You can hear it at:

www.looppool.info/TheBrokenMusicBox/

enjoy
