Re: looking for animal sounds
Wed, November 9, 2005 - 2:05 PMDoh! Sorry to hear that... hopefully you'll figure that out soon.
One other resource I use if findsounds.com doesn't have your animal noise: alltheweb.com has an audio file search (which can be fun and a good way to discover new/weird/obscure music). However, if you type in "Lemur" you're likely to find a band or something w/ that name long before you find an actual field recording of a lemur. -

Re: looking for animal sounds
Wed, November 9, 2005 - 7:38 PMthanks for these links.........this is why I love tribe..........with a few clicks you can find people who have done a lot of pre research to find things.
It is funny though, just googling things you are looking for is a really good way of finding out about almost everything. -

Re: looking for animal sounds
Thu, November 10, 2005 - 1:01 PMYep... I think if people took the time to figure out Google syntax & how search engines worked they'd be amazed. The only reason I learned is because I had to when I was on a search engine optimization project for my company.
On the other hand, sometimes you think you've got it down and you do your search and... nothing. Squat. Ka-diddle. Nothing's more frustrating, esp. when it comes to lookin' for that perfect sound. -

Re: looking for animal sounds
Fri, August 3, 2007 - 1:51 PMI am a sample junkie, oddly enough, a great place to find sounds is at a big CD store, Virgin, dont know how many other big ones there are, I used to get mine from tower before they shut down, but you can really go to any cd store and just have them special order some for you. I have multiple double cd's of all kinds of animal sounds that I found this, plus you will find alot of other wierd things on these cd's. There usually in the spoken word / sound effects section. Also book on tape cd's are full of good stuff. -
